<p>Abrasion resistant coatings... N1- comprise granular aluminium oxide or silicon carbide in a plastics binder (e.g. epoxy, or polyester resin). Small amounts of fibrous reinforcement (esp. glass fibre) may also be present. The granular fillers are mixed with the molten or plastic thermoplastic binder and the mixt. cast and allowed to harden. Uses esp. as coatings for pumps for abrasive materials, or for scrapers for flat filters, when the relatively rough surfaces of the coating aids the passage of material through the filter.</p> |
