PURPOSE:To obtain the titled medium having good wear resistance in the entire temp. range from a low to room temp. and excellent durability by having a magnetic layer contg. glycerol trioleate. CONSTITUTION:The glycerol trioleate is incorporated into the magnetic layer. The wear resistance of the magnetic layer particularly at the low temp. is thereby improved. The wear resistance of the magnetic layer in the entire temp. range from the low to room temp. is thoroughly improved by making combination use of a satd. fatty acid. The glycerol trioleate is a lubricating agent which is liquid at an ordinary temp. The glycerol trioleate exhibits the excellent lubricating particularly at the low temp. when incorporated into the magnetic layer, thereby decreasing the coefft. of friction of the surface of the magnetic layer and improving the wear resistance at the low temp. The glycerol trioleate has good affinity to the satd. fatty acid and when the glycerol trioleate is used in combination with the satd. fatty acid, the excellent lubricating function of the satd. fatty acid at the low temp. is provided as well, by which the wear resistance in the entire temp. range from the low to room temp. is substantially improved. |
