The invention relates to a method and a machine for installing one or more large screen-forming elements into the ground. This machine is characterised in that it comprises a trench-digging unit 4; at least one unit for feeding the screen-forming elements, which are placed into the trench 8 downstream of the digging unit 4, comprising means for feeding and holding the screen-forming elements 2 in a substantially vertical position in the trench 8; and means 16 for injecting a suitable material 18 into the said trench so as essentially to fill completely the said trench comprising the screen-forming elements 2. The invention makes it possible to build automatically an installation in the ground of one or more large screen-forming elements, thereby considerably increasing productivity. <IMAGE>
