Antilock control system for vehicles

A single antilock control device is described, in which the brake pressure on a plurality of wheels is jointly controlled by means of one brake pressure control unit. A measuring transducer for measuring the wheel speed of rotation is assigned to one wheel of the plurality of wheels on each side of the vehicle. The brake pressure is alternately controlled in the select-low and select-high mode as a function of certain criteria. In order to prevent locking of a plurality of wheels in the select-high mode, a single rotation detector is assigned to the other wheels. If it is detected that a plurality of wheels or all those not equipped with a wheel speed transducer are no longer rotating or rotating only very slowly, select-low mode is enabled.
