A spiral-bladed lawnmower has a cutting roller, which is provided with a plurality of cutter bars which are arranged in a helical fashion, and a counter-cutter which is arranged in the region of the underside of the lawnmower. To improve the cutting performance and to increase service life, the cutting edge of each cutter bar or the cutting edge of the counter-cutter is profiled. The profiling is selected in such a way that lateral deflection of the blades of grass is prevented.
