NEW MATERIAL:A 2-halo-2-cyclopentenone derivative expressed by formula I [X is halogen; R is H or -COOR3 (R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzyl); R1 is H or alkyl; R2 is H or protecting group of OH; A is C, O or S; dotted lines in two positions are single bond or double bond, Q is OH when the dotted line between the 5- and the 1'-positions is single bond and H when the dotted line is double bond] and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. EXAMPLE:2-Fluoro-4-hydroxy-5-(1-hydroxy-5-oxa-6-methoxycarbonylhexyl)- 4-me thoxycarbonyl-2-cyclopentenone. USE:An antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A 2-halo-2-cyclopentenone expressed by formula II is reacted with an aldehyde derivative expressed by formula III to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
