PURPOSE:To form uniform glass fiber by boring many holes at regular intervals through a bushing plate material, piercing a needle rod through the hole, protruding the rod, and controlling thread breakage and the variance in the thickness of thread. CONSTITUTION:Many holes 12 are bored through the bushing plate material 11 in a zigzag arrangement to form a bushing plate 10. The needle rod 13 having a cone angle of about 30 deg. is pierced through each hole 12 and protruded about 4mm. The base part of each needle rod 13 is integrated with a plate 14, hence the rod is supported, and the plate 14 is supported by a bushing box. Under such conditions, molten glass is discharged downward from the hole 12 along the outer periphery of the needle rod 13 and spun. Consequently, the variance in the thickness of thread is reduced. Even when the thread is broken, the remaining thread is shrunk and collected on the tip end of the needle rod 13, and is not stuck on the lower surface of the plate 10. Consequently, the molten glass can be normally discharged and spun when spinning is resumed, and the variance in the thickness of thread is remarkably reduced. |
