PURPOSE:To simplify the insulation of a stator coil and also simplify the structure around a bearing, by fully enclosing a generator and preventing a steam from entering the generator. CONSTITUTION:A steam turbine casing 22 is connected to a piping 34, and a steam turbine rotor 21 is accommodated in the casing 22. A generator is arranged on the low pressure side of the steam turbine, and is provided with a rotor 23 and a stator 24. An outside piping 26 is arranged around a generator frame 25 surrounding the stator 24, and is connected at its one end to the casing 22. A labyrinth is provided at a shaft insert portion of a seal ring 28 to form a structure preventing a steam from entering the generator. With this arrangement, all the steam is allowed to flow through a space between the outside piping 26 and the generator frame 25. The heat generated from the generator is reduced to the steam, and is then fed through a space between an outlet reducer 27 and an opposite end cover 29 to the low pressure side.
