Installing items of furniture, in particular of kitchen furniture, in such a way that their upper side is precisely horizontal in the X and Y directions is extremely laborious. For this purpose, foot pieces screwed into adjustment feet mounted on the underside have to be turned until the upper side of the respective item of furniture is horizontal. This has to be done for each item of furniture on which four such adjustment feet are mounted in each case. According to the invention, it is proposed to provide only two adjustment feet on the side on each item of furniture, with the exception of the first one in a row, which adjustment feet each project beyond the item of furniture so that the next item of furniture can be fitted onto the projecting receiving plates. Using an appropriately long screwdriver, it is possible to act easily on the foot pieces from above and thus carry out this adjustment work in a very simple manner. <IMAGE>
