PURPOSE:To form the picture of a high density in a comparatively small amount of energy, by a method wherein a thermal ink-transfer color material layer is printed or applied on a base material sheet via a dye translation preventive layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal ink-transfer sheet is piled on the upside surface of the image-receiving paper 8 consisting of a paper base material 6 and the dyeable resin layer 7 formed on its upside surface and then, the upside surface of the heat-sensitive ink-transfer sheet is pressed and heated with a thermal head 9. Though the dye 3a in a thermal ink-transfer color material layer 3 is sublimated at that time, the sublimated dye 3a can not be translated upwards because of the presence of a dye translation preventive layer 2 and most thereof is translated toward the dyeable resin layer 7 of the image-receiving paper 8 to dye this dyeable resin layer 7. Therefore, a high ink-transfer efficiency is obtained and the picture image of a high density can be obtained. |
