Four-stroke rotary cylinder engine for spark-ignition engines, which ensures a total balancing of the forces produced during combustion without the incorporation of a flywheel. It consists of a disk-shaped cylinder-type rotor which revolves around a rotor shaft. The combustion cylinders are oriented radially in the rotor, and the combustion spaces are arranged inwardly. The free pistons slide in a trochoid surrounding them, and two combustion cycles are effected per cylinder in a single revolution. The valves are automatically actuated by two cams fixedly mounted on the rotor shaft. The disk of the clutch unit is directly incorporated on the rotor. The motor is characterized by a very low specific volume and weight and allows the combustion cylinder to be progressively switched off.
