Process for disposing of waste from fat separator units

A novel process is presented for disposing of waste from fat separator units, which is characterised in that the separated layer is removed by mechanical means from the waste water surface and then discharged from the separator vessel. Essentially water-free sink and float materials are obtained as a result. The mechanical means can be constructed as a screen grid or flexible link belt. The fat is isolated by pushing off or allowing it to slide off. The still liquid or reliquefied fat can also be absorbed by oleophilic nonwoven webs which are then removed from the separator.
