PURPOSE:To obtain a curable clear coating composition giving a cured coating film having controllable light-transmittance without lowering the curability and suitable for the coating of an optical fiber, by dispersing minute resin particles having specific particle diameter and refractive index in a curable liquid resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective curable clear coating composition can be produced by dispersing (A) minute resin particles composed of internally crosslinked polymer or copolymer produced by polymerizing a monomer having poly merizable ethylenic unsaturated group such as an alkyl (meth)acrylate by emul sion polymerization, suspension polymerization, precipitation polymerization, NAD polymerization, etc., in (B) a liquid resin curable with actinic energy radiation or with heat. The particle diameter of the component A is 0.1-5mu and the refractive index difference of the component A from the component B is >=0.005, preferably >=0.01. The amount of the component A is 0.02-40wt% based on the whole nonvolatile component in the composition.
