PURPOSE:To detect such driving condition as caused on the erroneous operation of load accurately irrespectively of the variation of battery voltage by employing such threshold as not constant against the ground but approximately constant against the battery voltage. CONSTITUTION:A power source line is fed from a system power source 5 (battery) to a load monitoring circuit 1. When the inherent voltage Vo is lowered to provide a referential power source Vref, the voltage variation of the system power source 5 will cause similar variation of the referential power source Vref. Then, + terminal of a load 6 is connected to the system power source 5 while the other terminal is connected to one inlet of a comparator 2 and the referential voltage Vref is connected to the other inlet of the comparator 2. In driving the load 6 through a load drive circuit 7 on the basis of a command signal X from a computer 9, the voltage at the point U will drop while the voltage at the non-drive point U will increase. Consequently, in selecting the referential voltage Vref between 0-B, a signal for discriminating between drive and non-drive can be produced from the comparator 2, then inputted as a monitoring signal Z to a computer 9 and detected.
