PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operation of an engine by providing a means for switching according to the starting mode or stopping mode of the engine while controlling said means according to the existence of a signal from a rotary condition detecting means. CONSTITUTION:Upon starting of an engine through a start/stop switching means 6, the condition is detected by a rotary condition detecting means 34, then a path switching means 8 is switched to a contact 8B at the engine stop side, when the rotation exceeds a setting rotation. When functioning the switching means 6 again, as required, an engine ignition means 12 is grounded to stop driving of engine. In such a manner, start/stop of engine can be controlled by functioning a single switching means 6 alternately. When compared with a system provided with starting and stopping switches independently, erroneous operation can be reduced drastically.
