PURPOSE:To identify that a user of an IC card is the possessor of the card by using the IC card and adopting the finger print collation system. CONSTITUTION:The user loads the IC card 1 to a slot of an interface unit 6. Then a finger whose finger print is registered on the IC card is touched with an input section of a reader 5 and the finger print is read by the reader 5. The read pattern data is transferred to the IC card 1 via an interface unit 6. A CPU 2 in the inside of the IC card 1 collates the sent pattern data with the pattern data stored in a ROM 3. When the patterns are coincident, the user is identified to be the right possessor of the IC card 1. The result of identification is sent to an on-line terminal equipment 7, which starts the execution for the right possessor. |
