<p>PURPOSE:To improve the modulation noise characteristic without providing especially a flutter roll by allowing a pinch roll, which is arranged above a magnetic head in the direction of tape running, to function as the flutter roll or the like. CONSTITUTION:The first capstan 2 and the first pinch roll 3 pressed to this capstan are provided on the left of a center magnetic head 1, and the second capstan 4 and the second pinch roll 5 pressed to this capstan are provided on the right. A tape cassette 6 has capstan insertion holes 7 and 8 fitted to capstans 2 and 4 and is set. When the reproducing operation is performed, the magnetic head 1 enters into a head window 9 and is brought into contact with a magnetic tape 10, and the second pinch roll 5 is press-fitted to the second capstan 4 to hold the magnetic tape 10 between them, and the magnetic tape 10 is run in the direction of an arrow X1. When the tape end comes, the second pinch roll 5 is separated from the second capstan 4, and the first pinch roll 3 is press-fitted to the first capstan 2 to hold the magnetic tape 10 between them, and the magnetic tape 10 is run in the direction of an arrow X2.</p> |
