PURPOSE:To calculate accurately the number of passing persons even when plural persons pass side by side at the same time by providing a reflection means for reflecting a brightness change from each supervisory line into a prescribed direction above or below a couple of the supervisory lines to supervise mobile bodies crossing a couple of the supervisory lines. CONSTITUTION:The reflection plate 4 is provided at a height of 2m from the information of a couple of supervisory lines 2, 3 e.g., a path 1, and the brightness change when a mobile body crosses a couple of supervisory lines 2, 3 is reflected on a prescribed direction. A photodetector 5 is provided with a lens 6 and a half mirror 7 for separating the brightness change due to the crossing of the mobile body into its spectral components and the supervisory information from the line 2 is made incident in a CCD 8 and the supervisory information from the line 3 is made incident on a CCD 9.
