PURPOSE:To more quickly retrieve a recordable position by bringing a head to a holding position for retrieval when a recording carrier is taken out and controlling a positioning means by a control means. CONSTITUTION:When an arm part from a switch operation lever 62 is turned to enter under a depression part 66c of a cassette loading/unloading detection lever 66, taking-out of a cassette 1 is stored. A cassette loading/unloading detection switch 70 is turned on by this stored signal when the cassette is depressed together with an outer cover 35 with the cassette 1 loaded to a holder 31. A flat spring 44 or the like which presses the cassette 1 to a positioning member 43 in relation to closing of the outer cover 35 is provided in the ceiling part of the outer cover 35 for the positioning member 43, thereby positioning surely the cassette 1 to the holder 31.
