4- (Aminoethane sulphonylamino) antipyrine and aminoethane sulphonyl-p-phenetidine molecular compounds. With barbitals, esp. with barbital, allobarbital, pentobarbital, aprobarbital, amobarbital, pentobarbital, secobarbital, binbarbital, butabarbital and mephobarbital, the molar ratio of aminoethanesulphonyl cpd. to barbital being 2;1, are novel and have pronounced analgesic and antipyretic activity, with low toxicity and high stability even in aq. soln. The compounds are prepd. by combining 2 moles of the aminoethanesulphonyl cpd. with 1 mole of the barbital, e.g. by heating. esp. in soln. and concn. to crystallise. The compounds are formed even when excess of one reactant is present. |
