Granulated, sharp-edged material, particularly chill cashing sand, is used to secure rod-shaped workpieces in conical holes. Pref. the pieces are first positioned in the holes of the horizontal plate, after which the gaps between the walls of the holes and the pieces are filled by sanding the plate with the granulated material. Pressure upon the workpieces or the granulated material, temporarily or during treatment, may be required in some cases. |
