PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of vibration at the time of sudden load change of an engine by providing a response valve, which increases the pressure in a lockup control chamber when the changes in oil pressure in response to the engine load exceed a prescribed value, in a torque converter. CONSTITUTION:When a converter pressure Pc changing in response to engine loads changes suddenly, the spool 23a of an engine load sudden change responsing valve 23 moves either one direction out of right and left to communicate a line pressure PL supply passage 26 with a passage 22. When part of line pressure is supplied to the passage 22, the spool 13c of a lockup control valve 13 moves to supply the converter pressure Pc to a lockup pressure passage 14, and further the pressure in a lockup control chamber 8 increases to increase the slip degree in a lockup clutch 7. Thus, the load fluctuation of the engine is absorbed by a torque converter 1, and the occurrence of vibration can be reduced. |
