POWER STEERING APPARATUS

The apparatus comprises a power steering device and oil pump for actuating the latter steering device. A device detects the running state of the car and comprises a sensor for producing a singal corresponding to the car speed, and an angle sensor for generating a steering signal corresponding to an angle of the steering wheel. A control device controls the pump in accordance with an output of the sensor device. The pump is driven when the sensor detects the car speed is lower than the predetermined value and when the car is at a standstill and the steering wheel is being rotated. The pump is stapped when the sensor device detects that the car speed kis above the predetermined value and when the car is at a standstill and the steering wheel is not being rotated.
