PURPOSE:To constrain the generation and growth of a stress-corrosion crack, etc., due to the sensitized zone easily residual near the groove especially by multiplying the welding bead of multiple layer shape in order on the groove, after heat-treating the build-up welding zone made along the surface of a base metal at both sides of the groove of the base metal. CONSTITUTION:The step part for bead is formed at both sides of a groove 3 so as to expand the width of one part thereof along the surface of base metal 1, 2, in case of forming the groove 3 on the joint part of the base metal 1, 2 (Fig. A). A build-up welding is made on said step part 5, then (Fig. B). The part of the groove 3 is worked as per the Fig. C and a build-up welding zone 6 and the nearby base metal 1, 2 are subjected to heat treatment for their gradual cooling after the state of making them in constant temp. at 885-950 deg.C as well. The welding joint is then completed by multiplying the welding bead 4 of multistep shape on the heat treated groove 3 and welding zone 6 in order as per the Fig. D. Consequently, the heat affecting part Z caused in the base metal 1, 2 at the lower part is dissipated by performing the organizational conversion by said heat treatment by providing the welding zone 6 and the generation of the stress corrosive crack of the base metal 1, 2, etc. are prevented.
