PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity to grain boundary corrosion after brazing by using an Al-Mn-Cr base metal contg. Cu at a controlled ratio and Al-Si-Zn solder coating material as essential materials. CONSTITUTION:The corrosion resistant composite Al alloy material is constituted of the base metal consisting of 0.5-1.2wt% Mn, 0.05-0.35 Cr, <=0.05% Cu and the balance Al, and unavoidable impurities and the solder coating material consisting of 5-12% Si, 0.2-1.2% Zn, and the balance Al and unavoidable impurities. 0.05-0.35% Zr is further incorporated into the compsn. of the base metal and 0.20-2.0% Mg is incorporated into the solder coating material according to need. The part of the composite Al alloy material to contact a heat medium is further coated with a sacrificial anode material consisting of 0.05-0.8% Mg, <=0.5% Zn and the balance Al and unavoidable impurities. The solder coating material, base metal and sacrifical anode material of the composite material are highly resistant to corrosion and is adequate as a brazing material for a heat exchanger, etc.
