PURPOSE:To clearly develop three colors, by providing thermal color forming layers capable of forming respectively yellow, magenta and cyan colors on a base, providing a decolorizing layer between the color forming layers and providing at least one intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:Three thermal color forming layers capable of respectively forming yellow, magenta and cyan colors with different color forming energies are laminated on a base in an arbitrary order. In this case, a decolorizing layer for decolorizing the thermal color forming layer is provided between the color forming layers, and at least one intermediate layer for separating the layers is provided, thereby producing a multicolor thermal recording layer. A decolorizing agent to be used in the decolorizing layer may be N-methyl-N'- phenylacetylpiperazine, N-propyl-N'-benzoylpiperazine or the like. A substance used for forming the intermediate layer may be polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, polypropylene or the like. |
