PURPOSE:To satisfy various characteristics required of material for terminals and connectors by incorporating proper amounts of B to a Cu-Ni-Sn alloy having a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:The composition of an alloy for terminals and connectors is constituted of, by weight, 0.1-2.0% Ni, 0.2-2.0% Sn, 0.005-0.35% B, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities. it is preferable that compounds of Ni and B are precipitated in a Cu matrix in the above copper-base alloy. Further it is desirable that the ratio between the quantities of Ni and B is regulated to the vicinity of 1:1 by atomic weight ratio. This B-added alloy has improved in all of electric conductivity, strength, elongation, elastic limit value, and softening temp., so that it is excellent in various characteristics required of the material for terminals and connectors.
