PURPOSE:To dissolve and remove a deposit by holding sludge between a couple of electrode plates via a filter cloth and conducting electricity between the electrode plates while compressing sludge in the inside of the filter cloth from the outside electrode polarity in every segmentary dehydration treatment. CONSTITUTION:When sludge is fed between the filter cloths 5 of a filter chamber 4 and filled therein, filtrate filtered by the feeding pressure is discharged to the outside of an apparatus through the through-paths 11-13 for filtrate discharge. Thereafter compressed air is fed to a compressed filter plate 2 to expand a diaphragm 6 and sludge surrounded by the filter cloths 5 is compressed and dehydrated. In a process of the compression and dehydration, electroosmosis dehydration is performed by making an electrode plate 7 an anode and making an electrode plate 8 a cathode and impressing DC current thereon. After repeating electroosmosis dehydration 1- several times, electricity is conducted by making the electrode plate 8 stuck with deposit the anode and making the electrode plate 7 the cathode and the deposit is dissolved and removed by acidic filtrate flowed out in an initial period of electricity conduction.
