PURPOSE:To perform reproductions of a slow, a still, a frame feed, a double speed, and a picture searching or the like with a good picture quality by a CLV disk by changing a discontinuity of a television signal due to the fact that an average moving speed is different from an ordinary reproducing period into a continuity by using a memory means. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing signal from an optical pickup 3 is made the television signal by a reproducing circuit 5. The output of this reproducing circuit 5 is digitized by an A/D converter 6, stored in two field memories 7, reading data from the memories 7 is converted into analog data by a D/A converter 8 and outputted as the television signal. According to information such as the slow speed, a pickup position on a radius, an angle of rotation, a reproducing position of a vertical synchronizing signal and a detecting signal of the number of fields on one periphery, a track jump signal and a writing control signal are generated. Thereby, the variable speed reproductions such as the slow, the still and the double speed reproductions can be realized.
