PURPOSE:To simplify the formation of a base as well as to improve its mass productivity, by installing a printed board inside the base, while connecting a lead pin insertionally to the conductor pattern, and setting a part of the conductor pattern down to a lead wire for the base. CONSTITUTION:A display element 1 consisting of surface glass 1a and back glass 1c is combined with a base 2 having a lead pin 2b, constituting the display element for a flat CRT or the like. At this time, first the lead pin 2b is inserted into a hole 3b of a conductor pattern 3a of a printed board 3, soldering them together, and afterward the board 3 is inserted into a hole 2d of a mold 2a upon aligning the lead pin 2b, forming it into the base 2. Next, the base 2 and the display element 1 are joined tight together, while a lead wire 3c is connected to a lead wire 1d of the display element 1, and they are assembled. Therefore, at the time of molding the base 2, the lead pin 2b is no longer required to be set in a mold pattern, thus molding is simplifiable.
