PURPOSE:To ensure and facilitate unreeling of a wire material, by a method wherein a winding collapse preventing material is coated only on plural rows on the small part of a wire material reeled orderly in a multilayer manner around a single flange reel having a flange on the large part side of a tapered drum formed in the shape of a circle in cross section. CONSTITUTION:A flange 2 is attached to the large part side of a tapered drum 1 formed in the shape of a circle in cross section to form a single flange reel 3. A wire material 4, for example, a covered insulating electric wire, optical fiber, is orderly reeled one layer at one time from the one end to the other end, and the above is repeated several times to form a multilayer reeling. Polvinyl butyral or chloroprene series resin, having relatively low peeling strength, is coated as a winding collapse preventing agent to a part 6 in a range of several rows from the end of a small part. A winding end 7 ends in the small part. This constitution enables ensurance and facilitation of delivery of the wire material. In the case of the optical fiber, a loss due to micro bend can be prevented from increasing.
