PURPOSE:To prevent a trouble of a signal transmission, which is caused by a contamination of the end face, by forming the end face of an optical fiber to a state that it has been provided with a cover for cutting it off from the outside, in case an optical connector has been disassembled. CONSTITUTION:The end face for executing a signal transmission, of optical fiber cables 1, 11 of a connector consisting of a plug 3 for connecting the optical fiber cables 1, 11, and a receptacle 13 is covered with rotary covers 6, 16. When transmitting a signal, the plug 3 and the receptacle 13 are connected. In this way, the optical fiber end face can be attached and detached in a state that it has been isolated from the contaminated atmosphere, and also, even in a state that it has been detached, it can be cut off from the contaminated atmosphere of the outside, therefore, a trouble of an optical signal transmission, which is caused by a contamination of the optical fiber cable end face can be prevented.
