PURPOSE:To enhance abrasion resistance of a recording surface and ensure that favorable image quality can be maintained, by providing a protective film of a transparent wax on a recording paper onto which an ink has been transferred. CONSTITUTION:In this ink sheet 2, heat-fusible colored ink layers 4 and heat- fusible transparent wax layers 7 are alternately provided on a base 3, with an area corresponding to one page of a recording paper as a unit. An ink part 9 provided with the ink layer of the ink sheet 2 is opposed to the recording paper 5, and electric power is applied to heat generating elements of a thermal head 1, thereby peforming transfer recording. After recording on a one-sheet amount of the recording paper is finished, the paper 5 is rewound in an excess of several lines. Next, a leading end part of a transparent wax part 11 provided with the transparent wax layer of the ink sheet 2 is positiond to a heat generating element line of the head 1, and a transparent wax is transferred over a surface covering the entire length of the line, whereby a transparent protective film 8 consisting of the transparent wax is provided on the paper 5. |
