A triple-layer steel comprises an inner layer of a first material rolled together and connected at both sides with two outer layers of a second material without other intermediate layers. One of the materials is a hard steel having the composition C = 0.4 to 1.2%, Si/Mn</=1%, Cr</=20%, Mo</=3%, V</=3%, Co</=2% and Ni</=1.5%, the remainder being iron with the usual impurities. The other material is a ductile corrosion-resistant steel with the composition C</=0.4%. Si/Mn</=1%, Cr</=30%, Ni</=30%, Ti = 0-12.0%, Nb = 0-15.0% and Cu</=5%, the remainder being iron with the usual impurities. |
