COMBUSTION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To cause combustion gas, incoming through a wide opening, to outgo through a narrow opening as the combustion gas is brought into effective contact with combustion holes and to improve the contact efficiency of fuel, by a method wherein the combustion holes are formed in a shape spreading gradually radially. CONSTITUTION:A combustion body 7 is formed in the shape of a cylinder using a heat resistant material, e.g., alumina, silica, a number of combustion holes 8 are formed in a shape spreading gradually radially, and are formed in the shape of a triangle, a square, or a hexagon in cross section. Mixture of fuel and air passes through an air-fuel mixture pipe 9, an air-fuel mixture injection nozzle 10, and an air-fuel mixture chamber 11 to enter an inlet 8a of the combustion holes 8 on the outer diameter side of the combustion body 7 to start combustion. The air-fuel mixture further flows in the direction of an inner diameter through the combustion holes 8, and after reaction is completed, the air-fuel mixture is exhausted through an outlet 8b of the combustion hole 8 to an exhaust chamber 12. Exhaust gas is exhausted through an exhaust pipe 13 and an exhaust port 14. The combustion body 7 is provided on its outer periphery with a permeable-to-heat body 15 concentrically positioned. The combustion body 7 carries a combustion catalyst, e.g., platinum, so that ignition phenomenon of air-fuel mixture in the air-fuel mixture chamber 11 at an abnormal high temperature time is prevented from occurring, and the combustion body is provided on an outer periphery 15 with radiating fan to dissipated heat as a convection heat into the open air.
