PURPOSE:To make it possible to have a large quantity of discharged smoke by the operation of one operator, by opening and closing a large roof with a limited force of a spring by moving parts of the roof divided in two nearly in a horizontal direction along a rail by means of a spring for separating said parts and a rope for drawing them. CONSTITUTION:A roof is divided into two parts and opening and closing of the roof is carried out by moving said parts nearly in a horizontal direction along rail. In order to put a rooftop device for discharging smoke 1 into a closed state, a rope 8 is wound up by turning a handle 11 of an operator 10, where a roof 5A and a roof 5B are drawn to each other and the rope 8 is locked in the closed state thereof. In the case of a fire, for opening the rooftop device for discharging smoke 1 for the purpose of discharging smoke, a button 12 of the operator 10 is pushed, then the rope 8 is set free, as a result, the roof 5A and 5B are separated by the action of a spring 7.
