PURPOSE:To attain color adjustment in an image exposing process and to facilitate stable control over a developing process by providing a means which inserts a filter for color adjustment into the optical path of image exposure. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 4 consists of a conductive member 1, a photoconductive layer 2, and an insulating layer 3 containing a layer 3a consisting of a distribution of fine color separation filters of red (R), green (G), blue (B), etc. The photosensitive body 4 rotates as shown by an arrow and the surface of the photosensitive body 4 is charged uniformly by the corona discharging of an electrostatic charger 5. The charged surface of the photosensitive body 4 is exposed to an image I by image exposing device 6. The image exposing device 6 includes a filter inserting device 61 and when an original image is reproduced faithfully, the filter inserting device 61 inserts a filter FN which is nearly equal in transmissivity over the entire range of visible light into the optical path I of image exposure I or inserts blue, green, red filters FB3, FG3 which has relatively high transmissivity of blue, green, and red light and halftone density.
