LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL

摘要

PURPOSE:To decrease the surface resistance of a substrate without spoiling the aperture rate and transmissivity of a picture element area and to suppress a decrease in image quality due to an irregularity in potential distribution by reducing the resistance of the ITO film layer in a no-picture element area. CONSTITUTION:The ITO film as a transparent counter common electrode is adhered to the entire main surface of a transparent substrate 7 for a common electrode. This ITO film is so formed that an area through which light from a light source is passed under the control based upon the operation of liquid crystal 9, i.e. unit picture element area 15 is thin (<=1,000Angstrom ). The ITO film as a low-resistance transparent conductive film 6' at the position opposite a nontransmissive area 16 where a shadow is formed optically by a control element 3 such as TFT formed on a transparent main substrate 1 and X columns and Y rows control wiring patterns 4 and 5 is 5 - tens of times as thick as the ITO film of the unit picture element area 15, so that the ITO film at the same position is reduce in resistance.
