<p>A gas insulated apparatus for high voltage, 3-phase applications in which an insulating, self-arc-extinguishing gas separates the high voltage lines from grounded vessels. According to the invention, the transverse impedance of the vessels is chosen so that a normal voltage impressed on the lines will produce a current through the resistive vessel that will be extinguished by the gas.</p> |
