PURPOSE:To limit the moving distance of an optical fiber and to prevent the connection loss thereof even if external tensile force is exerted to the fiber by providing a recess (or projecting part) having a prescribed width to the inside wall of a housing and providing a projecting part (or recess) having a prescribed width smaller than the width of the recess to the outside periphery of a ferrule. CONSTITUTION:The housing 11 is formed into a bottomed cylindrical shape and a through-hole into which the ferrule 2 is inserted is bored to a bottom 11a thereof. The recess 12 having the prescribed width l1 is formed to the inside wall of the housing 11 in contact with the bottom 11a. On the other hand, the ferrule 2 provided at one end of the optical fiber 1 is inserted and disposed into the through-hole freely movably in the optical axis direction of the fiber 1. The projecting part 13 having the prescribed width l2 smaller than the width l1 of the recess 12 is integrally formed to the outside periphery of the ferrule 2 and the projecting part 13 fits into the recess 12. One face of the projecting part 13 of the ferrule 2 contacts the bottom 11a of the housing 11 and one end of a coiled spring 4 contacts the other face thereof.
