PURPOSE:To contrive to relieve the operating duty and improve the reliability by operating a protective device provided in parallel with the ignitron on the condition that the discharge current flowing to the ignitron reaches the predetermined value and its integrating value reaches the predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:With a current detector 12 the discharge current flowing to an ignitron 8 is detected and the detected output is given to a detection circuit 12a. The detection circuit 12a begins to integrate the discharge current by an ignitron ignition signal 9. When is integrating value gets to the predetermined value, an abnormal signal 12b is outputted. By this abnormal signal a protective device 13a is operated through a protection circuit 13, by which the ignitron 8 can be protected.
