PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance by constituting the primary member of composite material having prescribed percentage of silicon nitride whisker as reinforcement and a metal such as Al, etc., as matrix and by constituting the secondary member, which is to slide on the primary member, or cast iron. CONSTITUTION:The combination of members is constituted so that the primary member composed of fiber reinforced metallic composite material and the secondary member composed of cast iron about each other and slide relatively. The sliding surface part of above-mentioned primary member which is to slide on the secondary member is formed of the composite material composed of the matrix consisting of Al, Mg, Sn, Cu, Pb, Zn, and alloys thereof and the reinforcement. The above reinforcement is formed of an aggregate of the silicon nitride whiskers in which total amount and volume percentage of nonfibrous grains with >=150mu diameter are <=2wt% and >=2%, respectively. |
