PURPOSE:To obtain information on the inside of a body by irradiating the inside of the body with light pulses from outside and detecting light which is affected by the body inside. CONSTITUTION:If there is a lump which hardly transmits light in the center of the body, light pulses which are passed through a fiber 3 for input and projected are cut off, straight traveling light does not reach the shadow of the lump, and light diffracted and refracted by the edge of the lump reaches a light receiving part 2. When there is not the lump, the light pulses are propagated uniformly to be made incident on the light receiving part 2. They are compared by a control and arithmetic unit 4 to estimate the size and position of foreign matter accurately. |
