PURPOSE:To obtain the titled crosslinkable composition having improved chemical resistance, heat-resistance, etc., by compounding a polyphenylene oxide resin with a styrene-based thermoplastic polymer, an epoxy compound and a catalyst and/or a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) a polyphenylene oxide resin, e.g. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) with (B) a styrene-based thermoplastic polymer, preferably polystyrene and/or styrene- butadiene copolymer, (C) an epoxy compound, preferably an alicyclic epoxy compound and (D) a catalyst (e.g. 2-methylimidazole) and/or a curing agent (e.g. m-phenylenediamine). The obtained composition is dissolved in a solvent, cast on or applied to a carrier film for casting, etc., and dried to obtain a film. |
