PURPOSE:To allow either face of a magnetic disk to reproduce information data by providing a circuit obtaining both inverted and noninverted outputs from the output of a comparator comparing reproduced signals and selecting the output based on a recording face recognition signal and other control signals. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced signal 10, which is reproduced by a reproduction head 1 and amplified by an amplifier 2, is led to the comparator 4 and a comparison voltage detection circuit 3. The compared result in the comparator 4 is outputted as a digital signal, and the signal 12 is led to the one input of a switching circuit 6. Simultaneously a signal 13 whose polarity is inverted through an inverter 5 is led to the other input of the switching circuit 6. It switches two signals corresponding to each face according to the control signal such as the recording face recognition signal, thereby obtaining an information detection signal 14. It is transmitted to a data demodulator circuit, and information data is reproduced.
