PURPOSE:To obtain magnetic powder for an electromagnetic clutch having remarkably improved magnetic permeability and wear resistance by adding Si to a Cr stainless steel or an Fe-Al-Cr alloy as a conventional material. CONSTITUTION:The composition of an alloy is composed of, by weight, 1-8% Cr, 0.5-9% Al, 0.5-5.5% Si and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities of 2-8% Cr, 2-9% Al, 0.5-4.5% Si and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The alloy is atomized to obtain magnetic powder for an electromagnetic clutch.
