PURPOSE:To easily and accurately obtain the distance to a destination by adding a function which stops arithmetic operation temporarily to a distance arithmetic circuit which calculates run distance from the rotation of wheels. CONSTITUTION:The distance arithmetic circuit 5 calculates the run distance from a rotation signal based on the rotation of wheels and the obtained distance is displayed on a liquid crystal display part 11. When the vehicle drops in halfway on the road from the starting point to the destination and returns to the road, a mode setting circuit 6 outputs a holding signal in response to an input mode switching signal from a mode switch 7 to stop the calculation of the distance by the arithmetic circuit 5 temporarily, and the arithmetic operation is restarted at the time of the return of the vehicle to the road, thereby finding the distance to the final destination. Thus, the distance to the destination is obtained easily and accurately.
