Apparatus for investigating moving media by ultrasonic echography with a view to determining the movement parameters of such media. This apparatus includes at least one ultrasonic transducer associated with a stage for periodically emitting a pulse signal with a determined repeat frequency F = 1/T and with a stage for receiving the echographic signals reflected to the transducer and for treating the received signals. The apparatus is noteworthy in that it comprises a digital processing path composed in succession of a circuit 320 for suppressing fixed echos, a circuit 330 for estimating flow parameters, a discriminating circuit 360, a device 370 for storage, conversion, scanning and colour coding, and a display device 312.
