PURPOSE:To ensure that a surface to be die stamped having a curved surface can be die stamped with a plurality of characters orderly and speedily, by providing an upper centering means for properly supporting an object to be die stamped in a pose suitable for being die stamped, and a universal supporting means for an automatic die stamper by which the die stamper is suspended so that a die stamping pose can be corrected. CONSTITUTION:A gas cylinder 7 is fixed concentrically with a center axis for centering by a chuck 3-1 and an air cylinder 3-2 of a lower centering means 3. When the cylinder 7 is moved upward together with a liftable base 2-1 by the air cylinder 2-3, the slanted side thereof comes into contact with the inner side of a slant plate 6-4, so that the cylinder 7 is moved upward while being turned from a slanted pose toward an upright pose, and when it is stopped at a point where an end plate makes contact with all of three slant plates 6-4, positioning for die stamping is completed. An air cylinder 5-4 for vertical movements is operated, whereby an automatic die stamper 4 is lowered together with a vertical-movement inner frame 5-7 of a universal supporting means 5 fot the die stamper, and is supported substantially perpendicularly to a surface to be die stamped. When a die 8 is struck by a piston hammer 4-2, the hammer 4-2 is moved upward, and the next die 8 for the next character is moved to the next die-stamping position. |
