According to this process multiple and stoechiometrically determined quantities of a fine-grain solid additive which combines with toxic matter are introduced in the flue gas downstream of the heating installation. The additive is partly transformed with the toxic matter contained in the flue gas and the direction of flow of the additive-laden flue gas changes several times in the reactor; it is then precipitated and after this the remaining additive is separated from the flue gas by a filter. The process is characterized by the fact that a certain proportion of the additive is separated from the flue gas flow and the reactor or downstream of the latter, but in any case before the filter, and it is reintroduced after fragmentation into the flue gas flow between the boiler and reactor or after its entry into the reactor. This process enables better use to be made of the additive and to eliminate more toxic matter contained in the flue gas. |
